MESSAGE FROM THE UNIC CLUB PRESIDENT

      The UNIC Club of Canada, Toronto has successfully sunk a borehole to provide water for the Children's Clinic, Central Hospital Benin City. The project was executed when the Club, represented by the President, Mr. Franklin Omoruna accompanied by the Club's Speaker of the House, Mr. Johnbull Osayande and Mr. Henry Ojo (member) were in Benin City between June 10 and July 2, 2004. The Borehole Project consist of two 2500 litre overhead tanks that distribute water to all parts of the hospital building. 

      All dilapidated plumbing equipments within the hospital complex were replaced and an agreement was solidified with the Borehole contractor, Messrs. Fidia & Gita Group of Company to maintain the borehole for the next 5 years at no cost to the government of Edo State. The borehole was commissioned by the Edo State Honorable Commissioner for Works and Water Resources on June 30, 2004. 

     The UNIC Club of Canada, Toronto takes this opportunity to thank everyone that contributed in one way or the other to the success of this project, and also call on all Edos in Diaspora to do their part in carry out any projects that will benefit the generality of our beloved families back home, Nigeria.
