Those of us who were in Toronto had an opportunity to witness/be part  of the

most well organized  convention in ENA's history. It was flawless as  every

moment was full of surprises. One started to wonder what would these  people do

next.

In April, after the COP's meeting, I referred to our guys in Toronto as  "The

Best Edo-Indigenes Anywhere." I am sure everyone who attended the  convention

will agree with me. The guys of UNIC Club of Toronto were  great!

Unfortunately,  on Saturday, just after breakfast as the main  event was

about to get under way, a 15-year old son of the vice president, Mr.  Imalele,

lost his life in the hotel's swimming pool. There was  confusion everywhere.

Some said the whole thing should be scraped  and called a quit. But the host club

wanted the show to continue.

I tell you, the show did continue as if everything was normal. At a point,

half of the people were at the bereaved's home (some 10 minutes drive from  the

hotel).  For the past two years, these people have worked  tirelessly to

ensure ENA the best convention ever; yet, the tragedy decided  to strike at this

time. The people were great and the rest of the show continued  flawlessly.

Finally, we thank God for everything. It could have been worst as there  were

several unsupervised children at the pool in that early morning. We got to

know later that it could have been two children who died at the pool but one

was  rescued.
